I am a Senior at AMES (Academy for Mathematics Engineering and Science.) This my senior portfolio, where you will find some of my best work that I have accomplished throughout high school as well as learn about who I am and what I like to do.
My Biography
My name is Chandler Anderson, I live in Salt Lake City, Utah. I was born August 17, 1998. I enjoy art, art history, music, taking care of children, and community service. I am the President of the Midvale Interact Club. Interact is a program for high school kids created by Rotary International (the largest service organization in the world). Interact focuses mainly on community service, but we do international projects as well, such as Polio awareness, and Days for Girls. My favorite project we do is Childcare, where we go and watch young kids of all ages while their parents take a class. I really enjoy playing and being with the children. This is just one of the many service projects I do.

Quote: “Never look down on anybody unless you are helping them up.”

Reflection:
This is one of my favorite quotes. It is also my life motto. I believe that service is an incredible thing that is beneficial to all. This quote explain that you should never look down on anyone unless you are helping them. Don't judge anybody, just be kind. I always strive to be as kind as I can be. I strive to be of as much help to as many as I can. Hence why I enjoy this quote so much. It is what I am constantly aiming for.

AMES Memory
My AMES memory is of freshman house. When I was told that I would have to leave my Jr. high to go to AMES, I was pretty upset. I have always hated meeting new people and I was afraid to go somewhere where I didn't know anyone. As you could imagine, I did not want to go to freshman house either. Three whole days of meeting having to meet and interact with strangers? No thank you! But just as my parents forced me to go to AMES, they forced me to go to freshman house. And I could not be more glad that they did. I made some amazing friends during freshman house. And I loved every just about minute of it. From the activities, to the speeches, to the barbecue.
