Critical Thinking:
Edward Glaser, in An Experiment in the Development of Critical Thinking, (1941), defines critical thinking as follows: “(1) an attitude of being disposed to consider in a thoughtful way the problems and subjects that come within the range of one's experiences, (2) knowledge of the methods of logical inquiry and reasoning, and (3) some skill in applying those methods. Critical thinking calls for a persistent effort to examine any belief or supposed form of knowledge in the light of the evidence that supports it and the further conclusions to which it tends.”

I took Beginning Guitar class. In this class I learned how to play, how to read sheet music and tabs, and many different songs and chords. My Great Grandma had always loved the sound of guitar. I decided to put my new guitar playing abilities to use. I played my great grandma's favorite song, Somewhere Over the Rainbow. It was an amazing experience to be able to make her so happy with just my guitar playing. I would not have been able to accomplish it without the help of that class.

I did my internship at Bad Dog Arts, where I helped take care of young children. I learned a lot about how to keep control of them and teach them in a good way that will help them more to learn. The next summer after my internship, I got a job at an amazing place called The Imagination Place as a teacher. It is basically a music camp for kids, ages 3-7. I absolutely adore working with young children, and I am now able to use and further develop all of the great skills I learned from doing my internship.

For my 12th Grade Integration and Application of Knowledge, I chose financial literacy. In the class, I learned a lot about how to handle my personal finances and become more responsible with them as well. I filed my taxes this year for the first time, and financial literacy helped me to accomplish that.
